This album has been written for and inspired by the English version of the book by the Japanese author Haruki Murakami (村上春樹) called 'The Wind-up Bird Chronicle' (ねじまき鳥クロニクル) - wonderfully translated by Jay Rubin. Each tune corresponds to a different section of this book, but of course, you don’t have to have read the book in order to enjoy the music.
